Nikki Lynise Dendy

August 9, 1973 — June 8, 2019

Mrs. Nikki Lynise “Big Nik” “Pretty Eyes” “Candy Lady” Stewart Dendy was granted her angel wings on June 8, 2019. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on August 9, 1973, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Jacqueline Stewart and the late Lenard Frank Stewart.

With her beautiful green and brown hazel eyes wide open, this was the first of many amazing things about Nikki. Another was that she could carry on a full conversation at the age of two years old.

She attended Overbrook High School and received her GED from a program sponsored by the Philadelphia School System.

Nikki was a very much loved mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She also held a special place in the hearts of many family members and countless friends.

She was the eldest of two children. When her mother wouldn’t let her have a dog, she replied “Well can I have a little baby?” This was when she was only three years old. Eight and a half months later, her mother had her little sister, Gera, whom she thought was her baby. Nikki moved to Greenville in May of 1996, and quickly adapted to life in the South.

One of Nikki’s favorite things was spending holidays with family and friends. She especially liked to grill. She was a very good cook. Her fried fish was the bomb. Nikki also liked to travel, she loved the beach and was the only one in her immediate family that could swim. She had a very big heart, and was very generous to the people she loved and cared about. Even though her life was cut short by a serious heart ailment, she led a very eventful life. She will be sincerely missed by the family and friends.

She was a baptized member of Long Branch Baptist Church and had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard F. Stewart; paternal grandmother,Josephine Stewart; maternal grandmother, Mary Ellen Moses; grandfather, Ollie Moses; three uncles, Richard Moses, Michael Moses and Larry Ulmer; two aunts, Peggy Stewart and Dorothy Stewart; and a cousin, Jamal Moses.
