Mrs. Patricia Ann Harris Ramos was born on August 7, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina and departed this life on September 27, 2018, at her home in Eight Mile, Alabama. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Lonzo Harris and Evangelist Nellie Mae Harris. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alonzo Harris, Jr.
She joined Old Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina, at an early age.
A 1969 graduate of Bryson High School in Simpsonville, South Carolina, she served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1972. She earned an Associate Degree in Science at the Bishop State Community College. She also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) at the University of South Alabama. She began her medical career with South Alabama Medical Center where she worked her way up to Head Charge Nurse in the field of Oncology (15 yrs.). An Adjunct Instructor for the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, she was also a cancer survivor. After taking some time out of her blossoming career and beating Hodgkin's Disease she went back to work for the Mobile County Health Dept. in both the Immunizations and Epidemiology Departments (16 yrs.).
She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Christovia E. Ramos Jr.; her only child, Christovia E. Ramos, III, and his wife, Johanna E Ramos of Foley, AL; five grandchildren, Heaven Ramos, Dynasty Oakley, Ashleigh Oakley, Christopher Oakley and Aaliyah Tucker; her siblings, Lillie Hill of Simpsonville, SC, Yvonne (Pete) Lockhart of Greenville, SC, Willie (Doris) Harris of Mauldin, SC, Walker (Cynthia) Harris of Simpsonville, SC, Neal (Parris) Harris of Greenville, SC, Michael Harris of Simpsonville, SC, Regina O’Neal of Fountain Inn, SC, Errol (Daviette) Ramos of Eight Mile, AL, Carolyn (James) Moore of Mobile, AL, Thaddeus Ramos of Prichard, AL and Lisa (Joe) Harris of Willingboro, NJ; and a host of other relatives and friends.
