Mrs. Pearl Earnestine Bowen, 85, of Easley, South Carolina, met with her Savior on Monday, February 13, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born on August 16, 1931, to the late William Arthur and Addie Robinson Bowen.
She graduated from Simpson High School where she was the Valedictorian of her class. She joined Easley Chapel United Methodist Church at an early age. She was active in many capacities including Youth Advisor, adult and youth Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School and the United Methodist Women. She retired from Fiber Industries and Rogers Day Care.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Frederick D. Bowen, Zelmon O. Bowen and Charles L. Bowen and two nephews, Gary Gamble and H. Vincent Wofford.
Left to treasure many unforgettable memories are a devoted sister, Bernice B. Anderson of Easley; nine nieces, Dorothy (John) Woods, Gloria Bowen, Reba F. Hunter, and Patricia Carter, all of Greenville, Joyce (James) Ruth of Spartanburg, Maxine (Tyron) Johnson of Orlando, FL, Constance Tarrance of Columbia, Gwendolyn (James C.) Alexander of Mauldin and Rosalyn D. Moore of Easley; three nephews, William A. Bowen of Mauldin, Charles (Carolyn) Vinson of Asheville, NC and Charles L. (Carolyn) Bowen of Pickens; goddaughter/Namesake, Marion Pearl (Furman) Butler of Easley; her ‘children’ that she did not birth, Cheryl (Eric) Hunter, Yvonne Elrod and James (Belinda) Breazeale, III, all of Greenville, Regina (Terec) Nedwards, Lenora Smith and Anna Robinson, all of Easley; devoted friends, Charles Hamilton, Elizabeth Gramblin and Mary H. Hendrix, all of Easley, Mary Jones of Pickens, Ester L. Ferguson of Greenville and Louise Covington of Charlotte, NC; seven great-nieces, four great-nephews; nine great-great-nieces; five great-great-nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
