Mrs. Queen Amanda McKelvey, 83, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Monday, November 4, 2019, at McCall Hospice House. She was a daughter of the late Willie Coleman and Alma Rabb Ferguson and the wife of the late Lewis McKelvey, Sr.
She was a graduate of Sterling High School, Class of 1954. She was a retiree of the Greenville County School District and a dedicated member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She served in many capacities at the church: a deaconess, usher, and a choir member and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars.
Left with many treasured memories are two daughters, Pamela McKelvey-Sutton of Milwaukee, WI, and Marsha (Laymond) Drummond of Suwanee, GA; two sons, Lewis “Mack” McKelvey, Jr., of Brevard, NC, and Willie Patrick McKelvey of Greenville, SC; one brother, Willie Leon (Mary) Ferguson of Taylors, SC; two grandchildren reared in the home, Sabrea (Edward) Tucker of Antioch, TN, and Damien Sutton of Anderson, SC; two other grandchildren, Mya and Ashley Drummond of Suwanee, GA; six great-grandchildren; a niece, Nacole Robinson of Prattville, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
