Reverend Mack Hawkins, Jr., 77, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Monday, March 23, 2020, at Aiken Medical Center, Aiken South Carolina. He was born in Greenville on February 17, 1943, a son of the late Mack Hawkins, Sr., and Thelma Blakely Hawkins.
Rev. Hawkins attended Morris College, studying Theology, and began preaching the word of God at an early age. He was known to be a Bible Scholar. He pastored several churches and was an associate pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. He retired from Pet Dairy in 2012.
He was married in May 1963, to Frances Owens Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Cynthia Hawkins and Lisa Mosley; and a sister, Hazel Hawkins.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are: his devoted wife, Frances Hawkins of the home; six daughters, Valerie (John) Harris, Judy (Booker) Moore, Lorain (Donnie) Heard, Delores Hawkins, Drena (Maurice) Brister and Sonya Mosley, all of Greenville; two sons, Mark Hawkins and Sammy Anderson, both of Greenville; one brother, Arthur Lee Hawkins of Columbia, SC; twenty-five grand-children; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
