Rev. Marvin Nathaniel “PeeWee” Arter, Sr., 76, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life to go to his Heavenly Home on Friday, February 10, 2017, at McCall Hospice House. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Nathaniel and Nellie Goldsmith Arter.
Rev. Arter was a graduate of Sterling High School 1958. He was formerly employed by General Electric, St. Francis Hospital, Fiber Industries and American Security. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Whitehill Lodge #565.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Walker Arter.
Left to treasure many memories are his daughters, Satina Arter of Augusta, GA, Marvella D. Arter of Enoree and Zolanda D (Arter) Okpera of Atlanta, GA; a son, Marvin N. Arter, Jr. of Enoree; brother, Robert “Plumkin” Arter of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Sean (Katie) Arter of Florida, Katurah Miles of Greenville and Jeremiah Miles of Belton; four great-grandchildren, Sean Jr., Mariah, Keaston and Kamiah and a host of other relatives and friends.
