Rev. M.C. Winston, Jr., was born on Tuesday, April 17, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late M.C. Winston, Sr., and Carrie Bell Winston. He departed this life on Monday, July 29, 2019.
Educated in the Cleveland Public School System, he attended Max S. Hayes Vocational High School, where he learned to repair and paint automobiles. His athletic career began with him winning many basketball championships. He graduated from Rutledge College in 1979. In 2006, he graduated from N.J. Brockman School of Religion. He passionately served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Sumter, South Carolina, for four years.
He was a devoted Christian man, a loving husband, father and friend - always smiling and willing to help others, and on a mission to teach and uplift God’s kingdom.
A faithful member of Aiken Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Winston served as pastor of Landrum Springs Baptist Church for ten years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Winston, Sr.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are his wife,Barbara McBee Winston of the home; two sons, Michael C. (Melanie) Winston and Marki Bishon (Kevala) Winston, both of Greer, SC; three sisters, Delores Mitchell, Nancy (the late Gene) Jones and Rosemary (Huston) Robinson, all of Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren, Calvin Sullivan, Marquila Winston, Braylon Winston, Jaden Byrd and Omarioan Winston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
