Rev. Wong Jackson, Sr.

Reverend Wong E. “Pee Wee” Jackson Sr., 62, born December 25, 1957, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Saint Francis Hospital, Downtown, Greenville, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Mrs. Jessie Mae Dillard-Jackson.

He was educated in the Greenville County School District, graduating from Greenville Senior High School. Reverend Wong Jackson was licensed into the Gospel ministry by the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Greenville, SC. He was ordained by the Enoree River Baptist Association. His pastoral experience includes being pastor of the Wilson Creek Baptist Church #2, Iva, South Carolina for many years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Jackson, Jr.

Reverend Wong E. Jackson, Sr. is survived by four sons, Minister Wong E. (Tonowa) Jackson, Jr., of Simpsonville, SC, Meekala Jones of Piedmont, SC, Jonathan Jackson of Duncan, SC, and Roman Chiles of Greenville, SC; four sisters, Minister Dorothy Williams, Margaret (John) Woodfolk, Rachel Jackson-Washington, and Debbie (William) Walker all of Greenville, SC; four brothers, Kenney (Teresa) Jackson, Sr., of Charlotte, NC, Reverend Richard L. (Betty) Jackson, Sr., of Athens, GA, Reverend Sylvester Jackson of Pelzer, SC, and Reverend Randy (Janice) Jackson, Sr. of Taylors, SC; twelve grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
