Robbie Mae Dickey Rogers, was born to the late Robert and Mazetta Dickey on August 30, 1942 in Greenville, South Carolina. Educated in the Greenville County School System, she was a graduate of Lincoln High School in the Class of 1961. She retired from National Linen in Greenville. On the journey of her spiritual formation, she was a member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Taylors, South Carolina. After a time of illness, she transitioned from labor on earth to reward in heaven on August 25, 2017, in the presence of the love and care of her family.
For almost 75 years, God gave Robbie Mae the gift of mortal life and she enjoyed her journey. From family and friends to neighbors and other relatives, she showed love and kindness and was loved and well respected in return. A beautiful smile was her hallmark and a heart of joy will be her legacy.
The precious memories of Robbie Mae Dickey Rogers will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted daughter, Reverend Twana (Sammy) Cruell of Taylors, SC; her long-time husband, supporter and friend, O’dell Rogers of Greenville, SC; a stepdaughter, Vanessa (Glen) Garrison of Taylors, SC; two brothers, Walter Lyles, Sr., of Greenville, SC and Jimmy (Julia) Dickey of Taylors, SC; five grandchildren, Martina Cruell of Greenville, SC, Ebony (Brandon) Paul of Easley, SC, Antwan Cruell of Durham, NC, Sentaz (Yolanda) Lewis of Fountain Inn, SC and Fred Lewis of Greenville, SC; twelve great-grandchildren; one surviving aunt, Betty Sue Montgomery; and a host of other relatives, friends, and the Saint Mark United Methodist Church Family, who shared the journey of life, love, and laughter with her.
