Roderick Alston

Mr. Roderick Alexander “Heavy D” Alston, 50, of Greenville, passed on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. He was a son of Leroy Alston and Min. Glenda Alston Mansell and was raised by the late James Calvin Kinard, Jr.


Surviving: his mother and stepfather, Min. Glenda Alston Mansell and Roosevelt Mansell, of Greenville; biological father, Leroy Alston; longtime companion, Carolyn Wakefield of Greenville; three sons, Adrian Gambrell of Greenville, Ramone and Rodney Sullivan, both of Gray Court; one sister, Ivey Kinard of Greenville; one brother, Adrian (Alicia) Alston of Greenville; stepbrother, Kevin Mansell (Lori Hartsell) of Greenville; three grandchildren, Ayden Sullivan, Alyis Sullivan and Rodney Sullivan, Jr.; many non-biological sisters and brothers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
