Death came for what life would not give, as he closed his eyes to open again no more. Though our hearts ache and our eyes fill with tears, there is peace in this eternal rest where he will rest with God forever.
Mr. Ronald Lee Allen was born on February 26, 1953, to the late Mr. Austin and Mrs. Marjorie Ashmore Allen, and departed this life on Friday, January 18, 2019, at his home.
Ronald accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young age and joined Friendship Baptist Church. He was a member of the Stars of Friendship and the Gospel Choir leading songs with his great bass voice. His great smile and singing will be missed. Ronald joined the United States Marine Corps advancing to the rank of corporal before he was honorably discharged in 1978. Afterwards, he worked as a control systems engineer for various corporations including Fluor and O”Neal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Austin and Mrs. Ellen Mims and Deacon Malvin and Mrs. Nellie Wright Ashmore.
Ronald leaves to cherish fond memories: a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Lois Thomas Allen; sons, Astin and Christopher of the home and Shandon (Brenda) of Memphis, TN; a brother, Michael (Yolande) Allen, three grandchildren, Celina, Gabriel and Jorie; aunts, Mrs. Gail (Roy) Cook of Simpsonville, Mrs. Doris Ashmore of Greenville, and Mrs. Freddie Allen of Fairfield, CA and Mrs. Mary Cooper of Detroit, MI; an uncle, Mr. Winfred Ashmore; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
