Ronald Larry “Ron GetiT” Preston was born on December 11, 1979, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to JoAnn Preston (Johnson) and Willie Preston. His mother proceeded him in death. Ronald accepted Christ at an early age and had a strong spiritual force that guided his daily life.
Ronald had many talents including music production, cooking, and car rebuilding/repair. Ronald’s passion for cars led him to go into business with his close friend to open up “Oz’s Unique Custom & Performance Full Service Shop,” just days before his untimely passing. Ronald valued spending time with friends and family, especially his father, who was also his best friend.
Ronald was employed by ZF Transmissions for many years. Ronald enjoyed his job and took pride in mastering his craft. He prided himself in having a strong work ethic and this was shown in his daily performance. He was loved by his higher management team and colleagues alike. While at ZF Transmission he met many people who became both friends and an extended family to him. Ronald lived his life to the fullest and positively impacted those with whom he came in contact. He believed in being helpful and treating others with respect. Each day Ronald focused on being a better version of himself than he was the day before.
Ronald leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Willie Preston III; stepfather, Ralph Johnson; one sister, Renea Thames-Greer (Willie) of Little Rock, MS; two brothers, James Thames of Greenville, SC and Comer Preston (Candis) of Chicago, IL; three nephews, DaQuaun Robinson, Cameron Preston and Camrin Ridley and a host of uncles, cousins and friends.
