Sgt.. Ronald Lamont Zimmerman, 77, of Mauldin, South Carolina, passed on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his residence. Born in Detroit, MI, he was a son of the late John McLester, Sr., and Vivian Parthenia Young Zimmerman.
He was married 49 years to Halliestine Wingate Zimmerman and served in the US Air Force.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Ronald Lamont (Shandel) Zimmerman, Jr., of Columbia, SC, Michael Alexander Zimmerman of Charlotte, NC, and Christopher Marcus (Clarissa) Zimmerman of Blythewood, SC; two daughters, Jeannie Zimmerman of Columbia, SC and Kimberly (Maurice) York of Wake Forest, NC; one sister, Vivian Maxine Dubard of Columbia, SC; two brothers, John McLester (Marian) Zimmerman, Jr., of Washington, DC; and Olden Alexander (Rosalee) Zimmerman of Columbia, SC; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
