Mr. Roosevelt Nelson, 90, of Greenville, South Carolina passed on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his residence. Born in McCormick, South Carolina he was a son of the late Sumpter Nelson and Amie Radden Nelson. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Nelson was married to Bettye Ellison Nelson for 60 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Carolyn Williams of Greenville, SC, Linda (Roosevelt) Boozer and Brenda (Wallace) McClinton both of Abbeville, SC, Eunice Johnson of Greenville, SC, Carolyn (Rev. Ronald) Peterson of Piedmont, SC; two sons, Michael (Stephanie) Ellison of Gaston, SC, and Robert Freeman of Greenville, SC; fourteen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-six great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Thursday, February 9, 2023, 1:00pm, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
