Rose Ella Griffin, 86, departed this life early Wednesday morning, May 13, 2020. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on July 4, 1933, and was the first child of the late William and Laverne Walker. Rose graduated from Sterling High School in 1952. She was brought into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church by her beloved husband. EVERY time the church doors opened, Rose was right there!
She was a talented seamstress for many years at Carolina Blouse and Stone Manufacturing. She was also a loving childcare provider for over 25 years for several families and at First Presbyterian Church. When she retired, First Presbyterian dedicated and named their infant room “The Rose Room.”
Rose became a DEVOTED member of the ‘old’ and ‘new’ Antioch Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Greenville. She served as a FAITHFUL Sabbath School Superintendent for several years as well as many other church ministries and committees. In her later years, she also attended Maranatha Fellowship and Greenville SDA Church.
Rose married Elder Harold Griffin on October 25, 1952. Rose was a DEVOTED wife! In their 64 YEARS OF MARRIAGE, Elder Harold and Rose Griffin had ten children, two of which preceded her in death.

Wendell Griffin of Greenville, SC, Yolanda (Kenneth) Barksdale of Greenville, SC, Nicholas (Marissa) Griffin Mauldin, SC, Zina (Dwayne) King of Fairburn, GA, Andrea Anderson of Greenville, SC, and Kevin (Treva) Griffin of Easley, SC; one sister, Doris Williams of Anderson, SC; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones, church family, and friends.
