Rosie Sweeney

December 18, 1926 — March 23, 2015

Mrs. Rosie Lee Dogan Sweeney, 88, of 4310 Edward Road, Taylors, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at her home. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry “Babe” and Olivia Hamilton Dogan. She was the wife of the late Jasper S. Sweeney, Sr. She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence J. Sweeney.

Surviving: children; Jasper S. Jr. and Lavanda C. Sweeney of Greenville, Donnie M. Sweeney of Taylors, Geneva S. (Curtis) Thomas of Hodges, Christine (Dennis) Sweeney-Rose, Princess A. Sweeney of Taylors, Karen S. Clements, Jacqueline S. Blanding of Greenville: sisters; Nancy D. Wilson of Cleveland, OH, Mary D. Jenkins of Greenville, and Clara D. (Fred) Henderson of Mauldin: brothers; Albert (Marcella), Alvin (Lorine) and Joe Henry Dogan, all of Greenville; brother-in-law, Rev. Fred L. Sweeney of Greenville; sister–in-law, Eloise T. Sweeney of Aiken; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service: Saturday, March 28, 2015, 2:00 PM at Flat Rock Baptist Church, 250 North Flat Rock Road, Piedmont, with burial in the church cemetery.
