Mrs. Ruby Frances Robinson Talley, 82, departed this life to go to her Heavenly home on Sunday, October 25, 2015. She was the daughter of the late J.D. Robinson and Maudie Lee Blassingame Robinson.
She was a 1953 graduate of Sterling High School. She was a retired Home Health Care Nurse for DHEC. She joined the Fairfield United Methodist Church at an early age and later joined the Sweet Canaan Baptist Church where she worked faithfully. She was the senior Deaconess, Mother of the Church, a member of the women’s department, past president of the Nurses Guild, former president of the Senior Choir and was a member of the International Order of Eastern Stars. She was also founder and president of the Nurses Guild of the SC, chaplain of the Ledbetter, Jackson, Hagood, Long and Blassingame Reunion and former president of the Robinson Family Reunion.
Mrs. Talley loved gospel music and was affiliated with numerous singing groups: The Echoes of Zion, Within Reach Gospel Choir, Women’s Community Choir, Mt. Pisgah Gospel Choir, The family group, The Gospel Soulettes, The Evangelistics, Fairfield UM Choir and The Heart Touchers.
She was predeceased by her parents and sisters, Ruthie Mae R. Dawkins and Lorene R. Johnson; brother, Olin Robinson and grandson, Marquis Harrison.
Left to cherish her many fond memories are her husband of 61 years, Mr. Jasper Talley of the home; daughters, Evelyn T. Green of Pelzer, SC, Barbara (Robert) Kilgore of Simpsonville, SC and Rozena (Paul) Henry of Piedmont, SC; sons, Marcus (Peggy) Talley of Lexington, SC and Curtis (Sandra) Talley of Columbia, SC; brothers, Roscoe Robinson of New Jersey and James (Esther) Robinson of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one goddaughter, Cynthia Grove of Simpsonville, SC; six sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.
