Sam Smith

Mr. Sam Edward Smith, 75, formerly of Decatur, Georgia, passed on February 18, 2019, at Grace Hospice House in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the third child born to the late Robert B. Smith and Lerlean Smith Franklin.

He was a graduate of Claflin College in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and a former Social Worker for the State of New Jersey.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Louis Smith.

Surviving: two sisters, Minister Matrulene Johnson of Greenville and Lyda R. Mitchell of Greenville; two brothers, William J. (Jeanie) Smith and Lenord R. Smith, Sr., both of Greenville; a close friend, Gwendolyn Scott of Decatur Ga; a sister-in-law, Joann H. Smith of Mauldin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
