Mr. Sammie Lee “Dee Dee” Smith, 70, of Liberty, South Carolina, passed on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Prisma Health. He was a son of Sarah Ellen Gaines Smith and the late David Smith.
He was married to Maggie Talley Smith for 48 years.

Surviving: in addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Adrian Smith, of Rock Hill, SC; and Maurice Smith, of Easley, SC; two daughters, Leosha (Leeshay) Wright and Porsha Smith, both of Suwanee, GA, seven sisters, Brenda Heard, Rettia Faye Gamble, Margaret (Timothy) Hill, Sherry Brown (Ken) Hewin, Janet (Douglas) Hallums,Teresa, Smith, all of Easley, SC and Darlene (Keith) Watson of Greenville, SC; two brothers, David Smith, Jr. and Douglas (Cheryl) Smith of Easley, SC; eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services: Thursday, September 21, 2023, 12:00noon, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
