Mrs. Sara Simpson Collins was born in Easley, South Carolina, on July 11, 1949, and departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at her home in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the seventh child of the late Clarence Wallace Simpson and Vera Austin Simpson.
She graduated from Clearview High School and Greenville Technical College Nursing School. She was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was loved by everyone.
She was married to the late Raymond Stephen Collins and they shared forty wonderful years together.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kai Raylin Collins; two brothers, Bobby Gene Simpson and Douglas Ray Simpson; and one sister, Peggy Ann Newell.
Sara leaves to cherish many fond memories, two loving daughters, NaKenya LaShun Collins and Christy Lynn Collins; one loving granddaughter, Kennedy Nicole Abney; two sisters, Malinda Anderson and Geraldine Richardson; two brothers, Leroy Simpson (Mary) and Clarence Simpson, Jr.; four sisters-in-law, Barbara P. Brown, Mary Ann Trice (Henry), Sarah Ruth Spencer (Frederick) and Sandra C. Trammell; one uncle, Homer Austin; a devoted cousin, Lara Mae Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
