Sergeant Michael Brandon Camp, 36, of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, was born September 10, 1982, in Richmond, Virginia, to Hudie L. and Yvonne P. Camp. He departed this life on Friday August 9, 2019, at Prisma Health Upstate in Greenville, South Carolina.

Upon graduation from J.L. Mann High School in June 2000, Michael enlisted in the US Army. He served the Army with honor for over 18 years and medically retired in May 2019. During his honorable service, he completed five overseas deployments in Korea (3) and Kuwait (2). This included the war in 2003 known as Operation Iraqi Freedom. His awards include Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal (7th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Korean Defense Service Medal.

Michael was known for his contagious smile and caring personality. His love and adoration for his family was unmatched. His favorite pastimes included playing and watching sports, knowledge sharing with others and creating experiences with family and close friends. He was extremely generous and protective of his family.
His grandparents preceded him in death,Clarence V. and Lee Gertha Camp and Clifton and Nina E. Parker.

He is survived by his parents; his wife,Angelica Hope Stephens Camp of the home; two daughters, Nia Gabrielle D’Asia Camp and Akira Noel Redd; two sons, Tavion Briggs and Chandler Scott Camp; his mother-in-law, Gloria Stephens of Fountain Inn; his father-in-law, Edward Stephens of Georgia; two sisters, Amber L. Camp and Aundraya J. (Donald) Boone, both of Seattle, WA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
