Ms. Sophie Viola Thompson Herrera, 73, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023, at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Russell and Savannah Mansell Thompson.
Surviving: two daughters, April (James) Williams of Anderson, SC and Melinda (Albert Dale) Gillispie of Fountain Inn, SC; two sons, Derrick Fitzgerald Thompson and Kenneth Thompson, both of Greenville, SC; her companion, Frederick W. “Freddy” Smith, Sr., of the home, two sisters, Minister Kay Thompson of Greenville, SC and Willimina Mansell of Hartford, CO; four brothers, Carl Thompson, Ansel Thompson, Billy (Linda) Butler, all of Greenville, SC and Earl Russell Thompson of Hartford, CO; nine grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, April 29, 2023, 1:00pm, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment private.
