The Beloved, Susan R. Ladson, the daughter of the late Paul and Lula Mae Ladson, was born in Summerville, South Carolina on April 22, 1945. She was called home on March 18, 2016, in Brooklyn, New York to be with her belated sisters and brothers; the late Ida Mae Edwards, Ruthie Ladson, Charles Ladson, Alvin Ladson and Paul Ladson Jr.
Susan attended and graduated from Alston High School in Summerville, South Carolina. In 1964, she ventured out of state to Brooklyn, NY, where she raised her family and worked as a seamstress for many years. Later in life, she became a childcare provider and caretaker for her grandchildren. Susan was also a member of Bethany Baptist Church located in Brooklyn, New York.
Susan is mostly known for being humble and very passionate about her family and friends. To know her meant you had a rare jewel as a friend, who would be there for you in every way possible. There was no bias in her heart which caused her to love unconditionally. To all who ever had a chance to meet her was greeted with her warm smile. She was a very strong woman who never complained. The grace that God blessed her with was exhibited daily in the way she lived her life, which made her more than a mother. If ever you needed a confidant or cheerleader, Susan was there. She lived a simple yet joyful life. That simple life consisted of taking long walks and, like most women, shopping. Most of all, she loved spending quality time with her children, which she did often.
