Mrs. Vera P. Dogan Hill was born on February 5, 1919, in Greenville, SC and was a daughter of the late Marion Perkins and Blanche McCullough Perkins.
She attended public school in Greenville, SC and cosmetology school. She retired from Union Carbide Company. She loved to cook and was an exceptional caterer and an avid gardener.
She was married to the late Jesse Dogan, Sr. To this union four children were born, Jesse, Jr., Robert, Edna and Linda. After Mr. Dogan’s death, in 1955, she married Warren W. Hill who had one son, William Earl Hill.
She was a member of the Reedy Fork Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Mass Choir, Pulpit Aide, Sunday School #1, Senior Missionaries and a Deaconess.
She was preceded in death by her children, Jesse Dogan Jr., Robert Dogan and Edna Dogan Bolden.
Mom/Grandma leaves to cherish many memories: daughter, Linda Dogan (James) Smith of Greenville, SC; son, William Earl (Wilma) Hill of Powdersville, SC; sisters, Evelyn Dickens of Temple Hill, MD and Dorothy Humbert of Simpsonville, SC; daughters-in-law, Julian Dogan of Greenville, SC and Karen Dogan of Cleveland, OH; son-in-law, Walter Bolden of Fountain Inn, SC; godsons, Rev. T.E. (Angela) Simmons of Mauldin, SC and Ray (Maggie) Dennis of Piedmont, SC; goddaughters, Nellie Young of Fountain Inn, SC and Mamie Casey of Woodruff, SC; seventeen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; thirty-three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
