Vernell Thompson

Mrs. Vernell aka “Granny or Big Mama” Thompson, 81, of 33 Ware Street,Piedmont, South Carolina, departed this life on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown.

She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliaries and MOCA “Coodies” Social Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles William Thompson; a great-grandson, Javario Brooks; and a brother, Junior Agnew.

Left to treasure many fond and loving memories are three daughters, Audrey Jordan of Greenville, Elizabeth Ann (Elridge) Hills of Simpsonville, and Mary Gamble of Greenville; two sons, Charles Larry (Ann) Thompson of Powdersville, and Billy (Louvenia) Thompson of Greenville; one sister, Louise Hanney of Greenville; nine grandchildren, Dominic Thompson, Javonda Thompson, Tiffany Warnex, Germany Thompson, Dennis Cannon, Damion Thompson, Demetrius Thompson, Travis Thompson and Jamar Thompson; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
