The Honorable Vernice Aretha Bush-Dawkins, 78, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at McCall's Hospice House in Simpsonville, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Walter Chandler and the late Sarah Justine Gambrell Spain.
Judge Bush-Dawkins was the wife of Thomas Lee Dawkins, Jr. for 33 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Brewster of Greenville, SC and Keenya Dawkins of Spartanburg, SC; three sons, Vincent (Melisa) Bush II of Greer, SC, Thomas Dawkins, III of Spartanburg, SC and Kendrick Dawkins of Coco Beach, FL; four sisters, Anna Lacy of Piedmont, SC, Jean (Levone) Burnside, Kathryn (Timothy) White and Mary Ellen (Larry, Sr.) Kerns, all of Greenville, SC; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Thursday, September 14, 2023, 11:00am at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary with interment in M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, South Carolina.
