Ms. Virginia “Jenny” Bryson Hill, 63, born August 23, 1959, in Greenville SC passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville SC. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Bryson and Patricia Ann Dawkins Bryson.
Jenny was preceded in death by 1 daughter Kenyetta Bryson, 4 siblings: Betty Jean Bryson, Rosa Lee Bryson, Willie “Billy” Bryson and Jerry Bryson and her fiancé Dennis Dees.
Jenny attended JL Mann High School and worked various jobs throughout her life. She was a very lively person and was affectionally referred to as the life of the party. If there was fun to be had, she had it. She was a very free spirit and caring person. She self-identified as “Bodacious”. She was a generous person and would do her best to help others. Often, she would offer housing to the unhoused and more than she had to the needy. She was a very good cook and loved to watch cooking shows. She loved to go fishing, thrifting, and hanging out with her mother.
In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish fond memories: one daughter, Shulanda (Kerry) McBroom, six grandchildren, Malik Chancellor, Jakerri Hill, Christian McBroom, DeAndre Bryson, Payton McBroom and Dai Dyer; four sisters: Fannie Gray, Brenda Gray, Tammy Thompson, and Shirley (Willie) Rice-hill; three brothers, Arthur Lewis, Tony (Tracy) and J. Eddie (Regina) Bryson; two nieces raised in the home, Gwen (Willis) Canard and Sandra Spurgeon; one uncle: Robert Boyd, one aunt: Sally Bryson and a host of relatives and friends.
Receiving friends with family will be Monday, July 3, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 7:00pm.
Viewing: Monday, July 3, 2023, 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary with Interment private.
A celebration of life event will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
