Walter Goolsby

August 24, 1944 — July 3, 2016

Mr. Walter Lee “Walt” Goolsby, Sr.,71, of Greenville, South Carolina, was born on August 25, 1944, and departed this life on July 3, 2016, at McCall Hospice House. He was the youngest of three children born to the late James Allen Goolsby, Sr. and Virginia Blakely Goolsby.

Walter was educated in the Greenville County School District . He was well known for his crafty hands and distinguished paintings. His artistic abilities always led him to many comical moments. He started the Sesame Street Rehabilitative Program designed for youth.

He was predeceased by his brother, James Allen Goolsby, Jr.; his sister, Joyce Loretta Goolsby and a daughter, Tonya Holmes.

Mr. Walter leaves to cherish many loving and fond memories, two sons, Walter Lee (Margaret) Goolsby, Jr. of Mauldin and Willie Lamarv (Mitzi) Goolsby of Mauldin; one daughter, Yolanda (Willie) Holmes of Greenville; fourteen grandchildren; a host great-grandchildren,nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
