Mr. William “Country Ham” Patton, 58, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at St. Francis Downtown. He was a son of the late James Henry and Lallian E. Butler Patton.
He was a graduate of Berea High School and worked as a concrete construction worker in Hendersonville, NC. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bertha Mae Byrd; and a great-aunt, Ruth Hawkins.
Left to cherish many fond memories are his wife, Gail Harris Patton of Hendersonville, NC; two daughters Christiana Hanks and Candance Hanks, both of Greenville; four sons, Lamar Hicks of Charlotte, NC, Reginald Harrison, Williams A. Harrison and Anthony D. Harrison, all of Hendersonville, NC; seven sisters, Bertha Mae Byrd, Geraldine Patton, Sheila M. Byrd, Jo Ann (Preston)Heyward, Patricia (Donald) Martin, Traci Patton and Barbara Patton, all of Greenville, SC; one brother, Wesley (Felicia) Patton of Greenville, SC; an aunt, Earth Lee Lewis of Greenville, SC; two devoted nieces and care-givers, Lollita (Calvert) Jones and Catherine Patton, both of Greenville, SC; twelve grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
