Mrs. Willie Mae Golden Meekins, 101, of Pelzer, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Patewood Post Acute. Born in Laurens County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Janie Woods Golden. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Meekins was the wife of the late James Woodrow Meekins for 73 years.
Surviving: one son, James Woodrow Meekins, Jr. of Mauldin, SC; four daughters, Janie Etta Jefferson of Blythewood, SC, Georgia (Leon) Johnson of Washington, DC, Ruth (Leon) Riggins of Texas, and Linda Faye Meekins Kinlaw of Alabama; eighteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services: Friday, June 23, 2023, 1:00pm, at New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with interment in Church Cemetery.
